Snapshot Screen

The Snapshot screen provides a simplified, side-by-side breakdown of all your major towing checks — helping you clearly understand where your setup stands and what each figure means.

It's especially helpful for those new to towing, giving you a step-by-step view of how your weights stack up against your limits.

Each section includes:

  • Real values from your LoadMate profile
  • Visual indicators (✅ green tick or ❗ red exclamation mark)
  • Simple calculation breakdowns

✅ Check 1: Towing Capacity

This confirms whether your caravan’s ATM is within your vehicle’s towing limits.

  • Braked Towing Capacity (from your vehicle specs)
  • Aggregate Trailer Mass (ATM) (from your caravan setup)
  • Difference between the two
📊 If your ATM exceeds your BTC, you may still be legal if your actual trailer weight is under BTC — but proof is required.

✅ Check 2: Vehicle Loads

This shows how much usable payload your vehicle has after accounting for key factors.

  • Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM)
  • Minus Kerb Weight
  • Minus Tow Ball Mass
  • = Gross Payload

Then:

  • Minus Occupant Weight
  • Minus Gear Weight
  • = Available Payload

Helps you see how quickly accessories, people, and gear eat into your vehicle's legal capacity.

✅ Check 3: Caravan Loads

This section calculates how much legal payload your caravan has available.

  • Aggregate Trailer Mass (ATM)
  • Minus BTC Adjustment (only if ATM exceeds vehicle BTC)
  • Minus Tare Weight
  • = Gross Payload

Then:

  • Minus Gear Weight
  • = Available Payload
🔎 This check reflects how much weight you can actually add to the van — especially important for free camping setups with water, gas, and extras.

✅ Check 4: Tow Ball Download

This confirms your caravan’s ball weight is within the safe and legal limits for both your vehicle and hitch.

  • Vehicle Max Tow Ball Rating
  • Actual Tow Ball Mass
  • Difference
🚦 A red warning here could indicate overloading on the vehicle’s rear axle or poor weight distribution in the caravan.

✅ Check 5: Gross Combination Mass (GCM)

This final check ensures the combined weight of your vehicle and caravan is under your manufacturer’s limit.

  • Gross Combination Mass (GCM)
  • Minus Calculated Vehicle Mass
  • Minus Calculated Trailer Mass
  • = Available Payload

Also shows: Your Calculated Combination Mass

GCM is one of the most important numbers in towing. Exceeding it can result in mechanical strain, legal penalties, and insurance issues.
