Manually Entering Tow Ball Weight

The Tow Ball Scale Measure screen allows you to manually enter a measured tow ball weight when using a standalone scale. This helps align LoadMate’s calculations with real-world measurements, giving you a more accurate towing profile.

Before You Enter a Ball Weight

Make sure the tow ball scales you’re using are reliable and accurate.

⚠️ At-home scales can sometimes give inconsistent readings, especially if the caravan isn’t level or the scale isn’t used correctly. Use caution and verify where possible.

How It Works

When you manually enter a ball weight, LoadMate will:

  • Apply that value to your tow ball download
  • Adjust your calculations to reflect this updated measurement

However, there are a few important things to note:

  1. Axle loads are not adjusted from a manual ball weight entry
  2. If you later enter a Professional Weight Report with a more recent date, LoadMate will automatically delete the manual ball weight entry to maintain data accuracy

Fields to Complete

  • Current Ball Weight (display only)
  • Measured Ball Weight* – your actual measured value
  • Date of Measure* – when the measurement was taken
  • Notes – optional field for reference (e.g. location, method, scale type)

To update or delete your manual ball weight at any time, simply return to the Tow Ball Scale Measure screen.

🗑️ To remove the entry, just click the ‘Remove’ button.
